Can anyone tell me what this is?
Anyone? No? Ok I´ll tell you. It´s an old school air pressure meter. When it rains (i.e. when it´s low air pressure) the twig points downwards. Come sunshine and what? Low and behold, it´s pointing upwards (i.e. it´s high air pressure).
How about that? Old folks have more wisdom that we think. Don´t you think?

First time I ever saw this. It´s at my fathers summer cabin. He probably learned it from his father.
Deleteoh wow i've never seen anything like it. I do have a vintage barometer clock in my kitchen which is very different.
