Agorafobic

This is a market place of my beloved hometown Lahti, Finland. Not alot action in a ordinary weekday morning. Couple dozen - or so - peoples in those outdoor cafe´s on the right. But that´s about it really.

Judging the photo it´s huge. It´s due me using 16mm (on a full frame). It enormously exaggerates the depth perspective. I mean; look at one of those stones on foreground, one of them could easily cover that church tower in the horizon. Which is 40m (131ft) tall. So there you have it.

  1. I've lived in some small towns but i love them, everyone knows each other and it's a nicer atmosphere.

    1. Lahti is home to some 120 000 people. 9th "big"est city in Finland. In a global scale this is a small town. I agree you on small towns, they´re nicer.

  2. Tyhjiä toreja on täälläkin, valitettavasti. Hakiksen torilla on sentään elämää.

    1. Juu, ei täällä ole ruuhkaa muuten kuin joka kuun eka ke. Sillon on paljon myyjiä ja jengiä pilvin pimein. Varsinkin kesällä ja joulun alla. Hyvä että sekaan sopii.

  5. Our town, Glenties, doesn't begin to function until 10. Only 800 residents call this home.

    1. 800? Wow! No claustrophobia in there then. I like small towns but that might be too little for me. Then again; one can travel to more crowded cities when need be.

    1. They´re really nice yes. Think about how labour intensive it is to make that. Mindboggling.

    1. I like mine too. Wouldn´t want to live in a bigger town. It´s big enoughf that everybody doesn´t know everybody. But still you get all the products/services/etc. you want. Kinda compromise in between big and small town.
