Looks like the fella in right already had his share. Opposite to that worker who probably has so small paycheck that she´s couldn´t affort to eat in Subway. And no way they´re allowed to eat on discount or for free.
And I´m 101% sure they´re recorded with cctv. In these little places they work solo and employer surely wants to know what´s going on. Which is in their rights. But most of these workers don´t eat nor dring before - and during - work hours because there´s no toiletbreaks. And there´s no coffe- or lunch-breaks either. Which is odd because they´re required by law.
One good thing comes out of that. Workers - who are mostly young students - will study harder so they don´t need to do work like this in the future. I mostly avoid fastfood places. And when I do go in one I always treat workers nice. They´re constantly treated like shit by customers. Many is even sexually harrased by customers. Just pondering how all this is even possible. We live a very strange world imho.
Respect is something these workers deserve.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly, mate.
Delete...I never eat at Subway!
ReplyDeleteI´ve eaten once.
DeleteRiistotyöpaikkoja todellakin. Usein vain se yksi työntekijä, joka hiki hatussa paahtaa leipiä tekemässä.
ReplyDeleteEi jatkoon.
Ei lisättävää.
DeleteI like Subway sandwiches, bought two footlongs today.
ReplyDeleteI usually leave a tip for these hard workers, low pay.
Trouble is that it has to be done by invitation on the
credit card acceptance machine, I usually make mine
to be one that rounds off.
..
Now those are huge sannies. In Finland it´s not common to leave tips. I´m glad that you do though, I believe that tipping is common place in the States. Them workers are on minimum wages and are very depented of those tips.
Deletep.s. Oh yes, I hope your appointment will help your health situation. I have one too, going to have a colonoscopy Thursday following this one. Been waiting two months plus to see a specialist but only a three weeks for the colonoscopy.
ReplyDelete..
Yeah, me too (no pun intented). That operation sound very un-comfortable. Hope everything goes well with you also.
DeleteI work retail and believe me when I say we love people like you who are respectful to us. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteGood manners is something I´ve always had and still have. Ain´t gonna change my ways.
